We are open from 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m, excluding national holidays and an annual festive closure. Total flexibility of care and learning is provided by choosing from the different sessions we offer.
Parent Partnership is at the heart of our practice and is always praised by inspectors and consultants. We offer more collaboration and special events, feedback and meetings. Our Eylog on line learning journal provides on the go opportunities for parents to see what is happening at Nursery and add home observations. These extras allow us to build positive, inclusive relationships with all families.

Our teams of highly experienced practitioners are carefully selected for their genuine love of working with young children and commitment to outstanding practice in Nursery. We have many long serving staff, and provide ongoing professional training, development and annual reviews of terms and conditions of employment. Our robust recruitment procedures, referencing, safer safeguarding practices and DBS checks ensure we recruit and retain the highest calibre of people to work with us.
Jessica joined Children-First in April 2016 as Deputy Manager and has previous experience in Management in a Children’s Centre. Jessica worked her way up to Early Years Coordinator, her base Nursery is Queens Baby Nursery. Jessica responsibilities throughout the Nurseries are compliance and ensuring quality. Jessica achieved a B.A. (Hons) in Early Years and Education in June 2017. Jessica is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead for each setting, Health and Safety Officer alongside the Managers and Area ENCO for the Company. Since qualifying in 2010 Jessicas’s commitment and dedication to supporting children’s development, working closely with families and mentoring the teams supported the achievement of Outstanding at Queens Baby Nursery. Jessica’s goal is to give the children the best possible start in life and support all areas of their development in a fun, inviting and enabling environment within our 3 Nurseries.
Amie achieved her L3 in Childcare in 2014 and a Level 3 in Management and is studying for her L5. Amie has a strong passion for working with children and is deeply involved in supporting children’s development in Nursery. Baby Nursery is a small Nursery where Amie enjoys being very hands on working with the children and reflecting on practice in the rooms and mentoring the team to ensure the very best learning outcomes for children. Amie is committed to continually developing herself and team members to ensure ongoing development, staff progression, and maintain our Outstanding Ofsted grade.Queens Baby Nursery is a small Nursery and this gives Amie the opportunity to work alongside the children and the team and reflect on practice in a formative way to lead the team and to retain our Outstanding grade from Ofsted. Inclusion and equality are areas where Amie excels to ensure every child feels equally valued and fulfils their potential. To support this Amie has trained in Makaton modules 1 and 2 and Supporting Children with English as an Additional Language. Amie is particularly conscious about health and safety with babies and has achieved a Level 3 in Health and Safety to ensure the very best practice in safety.
Catherine studied childcare in Epping Forest College and achieved a high pass grade Level 3 in Childcare and Education in 2008. She joined the team in 2018 as a working parent of 2 children. Catherine has always been passionate about children’s learning and care. Catherine has spent her working life with children from small babies up to the age of 7. Catherine is motivated by seeing children develop and learn in Nursery, and enjoys caring for, educating young children and seeing the rewards of exiting achievements and children’s wow moments. Catherine really enjoys working messy play and seeing the children make their own play dough and delight in exploring it's texture. The outside area provides Catherine for opportunities support the children’s physical development and Catherine encourages the children in the wealth of outdoor activities such as obstacle courses, where the children get to do lots of physical movements and develop their co-ordination. She loves leading circle time activities with the children and supports them to say good morning to each other and her, talk about their feelings and recognise their peers and adults. Catherine feels this is an amazing bonding experience for and with the children.
Farai joined the team in 2016 and is qualified in Level 2 Food and has been trained in food allergens. Farai is passionate about cooking for children and thrives on seeing the children really enjoying the food she cooks from scratch. The children are offered a very extensive menu rotating over three week and overseen by a child Nutritionalist which introduces food, flavours and textures from around the world. Farai takes a lot of pride in her work and she is very proud of achieving 5* Environmental Health award for the standard of her kitchen and hygiene every time we are inspected. Farai’s passion for food and healthy living is what drives her to ensure that the meals are homemade and healthy and appropriate for our very youngest babies and the over 2’s. Farai believes that children who eat healthily when young have the best nutritional start and importantly teaching children to eat well, ensures they make good choices as they grow and learn more about food.
