Magical ice kingdom

Magical ice kingdom

This week in preschool to continue our topic of winter we decided to make a magical ice kingdom. The tray consisted of fake snow, different winter animals and colorful shredded paper. The children enjoyed exploring the texture of the fake snow and enjoyed using the ice spray to spray some fake snow into the tray. The children were curious watching the fake snow come out the spray bottle. The children took turns to have a go with the fake snow spray. The children then enjoyed using the different animals in the tray and enjoyed making footprints in the snow. One child said “that’s the polar bears footprint.” The children then extended their interest by adding different glass jars and enjoyed filling up the glass with the fake snow. The children enjoyed emptying and filling up the fake snow and enjoyed showing it to their peers. We then extended this activity by the children making their own snowflakes. The children used q tips as a different method of painting and enjoyed dipping the q tip into the paint and enjoyed making their own snowflakes.
