Some of the children in Lions had fun with the building blocks, they were building towers and then knocking them over, counting them and also learning the names of the colours of the blocks. They also had the numbers 1 to 3 written in shaving foam. 

Building blocks are a valuable tool in early years education (EYFS) due to their ability to support various aspects of child development, including physical, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. They offer opportunities for fine and gross motor skill development, spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and creative expression. 

Building blocks activities support the children with their fine motor control and also help with their hand-eye coordination
