The Grasshoppers have been looking at animal shadows as part of our animal theme. The activity allowed the children to explore the cause and effect of the over head projector and to be bale to explore technology equipment by pressing buttons to operate the projector and turning the light on and off. The children excitedly explored the shadows of the animals on paper on the wall. The children looked at the outline of the animals and described what they could see using descriptive language. The children practiced the animal sounds and explored the phonics in the animal names. The children explored the shape of the animals and drew around the animal on the wall. They used mathematical rods to measure the different animals and explore which ones were bigger or smaller.
