Shadow Animals

To kickstart this weeks light and dark topic we did a shadow puppetry show in the sensory room. We hung up a light sheet and shone a torch on it to create the light needed for the show. An adult modelled how to use their hands to make different animals and shapes to form a shadow. We spoke about how when we moved the hands or object closer to the light it got bigger on the material but when it was further it was smaller on the material. Once they built understanding and confidence the children then tried to make their own shapes and animals using their hands in the shadows. It was very fun and the children had fun learning all about shadows in the dark.

Well done Children for exhibiting brilliant patience and turn taking when making your shadow puppets!
