World Doughnut Day

World Doughnut Day

As today was world donut day, preschool made some cool different donuts. They took turns in adding all the ingredients to the two batches and they added some special ingredients: sprinkles and Purple food colouring!

After everything was all mixed together, they then watched as the Adult put the batter into the doughnut maker. After cooking the doughnuts, the children then enjoyed having it with the Lunch pudding.

For world Doughnut Day the babies enjoyed making their doughnuts out of apple rings, coloured yoghurt, and sprinkles. The babies enjoyed using their fine motor skills to spread the coloured yoghurt onto their apple rings. We then used our fine motor skills to sprinkle the sprinkles on top of our doughnut rings. We then ate our fruit doughnuts.

To celebrate world doughnut day in toddler room we explored some alternatives to normal doughnuts. We made some pear and banana doughnut rings. We worked on our fine motor skills using knives to spread jam on top of our fruit rings and sprinkle some sprinkles on top of the jam. We really loved tasted our fruit creations.
