Stuck in the Mud (1)

This week in Baby Room, we have been enjoying sensory play by exploring different textures. We made oobleck using cornflour and coloured water and encouraged the babies to investigate how it felt.
As one of the children's current interests is animals, we placed some wild animals into the oobleck and encouraged the babies to free them from the sticky mixture. This gave them the chance to explore the texture while interacting with the animals.
Some of the babies enjoyed getting their hands messy and exploring the oobleck, while others were not too keen on the texture and preferred to watch or touch it only a little. However, all of the babies enjoyed joining in with the animal theme and had lots of fun practising their best animal sounds together.
