This week the babies have been exploring the different sounds materials make when sprinkled. We provided them with dry messy play trays using rice, lentils and pumpkin seeds and the babies explored the texture of these, and the sound they made when they were sprinkled into the trays and tins of different materials. This activity worked on the babies fine motor skills, particularly refining their pincer grasp as they used their little fingers to pinch the materials to pick them up.
