Incy Wincy Spider: A Rainy Day Adventure!

This morning, The Ladybirds noticed that it had started to rain, inspiring us to sing the much-loved nursery rhyme Incy Wincy Spider during circle time! This sparked a wonderful idea for our afternoon. The ladybirds created their very own water spout and watched with curiosity as the pretend spiders climbed up! Using watering jugs, they made their own rain and excitedly watched as the spiders slid back down the spout. We repeated the activity again and again, exploring what happened each time the rain came along. Then, just like in the song, the sun came out and our spider finally stayed at the top of the water spout! Ladybirds had lots of fun developing their communication and language as they listened to and joined in with a familiar nursery rhyme, alongside their physical development as they poured water and practised their hand-eye coordination. They also explored cause and effect, discovering how the water made the spiders move, while building their curiosity, concentration and early problem-solving skills. Well done Ladybirds!
