 Our mini beast workshop

This week the preschool concluded their lifecycles and growth curriculum topic with their own three part workshop exploring different mini beasts.

Workshop station one consisted of the children observing their worm world wormery and the worms using the magnify glasses, they then extended to real life drawings of the worms.

Workshop station two focused on the life cycle of the butterfly. The children observed their caterpillars as part of their chrysalis experience. The children loved describing the caterpillars and commenting with their peers on what the caterpillars were doing. The children then used their creative and physical skills to create their own caterpillars using playdough and tools. The children discussed the different life cycle of the butterfly visuals and what they predict will happen in the next stage.

Workshop three enjoyed their bug house exploration observing the bug house for life using their magnify glasses the children discussed wat bugs they though would live in the bug house and why and homes their own bugs they brought to nursery as part of the bring your mini beasts to nursery project.
