Dissecting a Flower

The Ponies took part in an activity to dissect a spring flower a daffodil. The children each took a daffodil and looked at the flower as a whole. They looked at the various parts of the flower and used language to name the parts. Children recognised some of the parts such as petals and new vocabulary was introduced such as stem. The children used tools to dissect each part of the flower and separated it onto their boards. Children were able to use the flower pieces to create their own flower.
