Sensory Planting

The Horses took part in some sensory planting to plant herb seeds. They talked about what the seeds might need to start growing and decided they would need both soil and water in the pots. The children scooped soil into plant pots and then sprinkled n the seeds. Once this was done the children added water and talked about why the seeds might need water and lots of conversation started about the seeds drinking the water. Claire spoke to the children about what else the plants might need and the children unanimously decided they would need sunlight and the children chose to store them on the window ledge to allow for light.

The children will now have the opportunity to watch the plants grow and care for them and use the sensory herbs for various activities.
