Growing Cress for Cooking

The Grasshoppers planted cress seeds.

They followed instructions to plant cress seeds in soil and water them to start the process.

The children took part in research to see how to care for the cress plant.

They watered the plant daily.

They observed the plant daily looking for any shoots and growth.

The cress plants were placed in the window so they had enough light.

When the plant started to grow the children were able to look at growth, decay and changes over time.

Once the cress had grown the children were able to cut the cress with scissors and use it to make cress and cucumber sandwiches.

The children talked about growing fruit and vegetables to eat.

Once the sandwiches were made the children enjoyed eating them and tasting the cress.
