Rosh Hashanah

Lions learnt about Rosh Hashanah which is a Jewish festival marking the first and second day of the Jewish year. It is traditional to begin the meal on the first night with sliced apples dipped into honey, which the children really enjoyed in the Lions room. So lions could explore the apples, they were able to cut and print with them, looking at the shapes they make.

The EYFS values the role that festivals and celebrations play in supporting children's learning and development in every area of learning and through them parents and practitioners can support the children in beginning to understand one and others cultures and beliefs in a world that's diverse and vibrant.
