Dragon Boat Festival (1)

Dragon Boat Festival

On Monday 22 June, we celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival. The children learnt about the festival before designing, making and racing their own boats. This experience encouraged creativity, teamwork and problem-solving while supporting the children’s understanding of different cultures and traditions.

In Preschool the children made their own origami boats before putting them to the test in a water race against plastic boats. They explored which boats floated the best and discovered that the paper boats became soggy, tore easily, and did not float as well as the plastic boats. This fun investigation encouraged prediction, problem-solving, and early scientific thinking while learning about the Dragon Boat Festival.
