The children in the Lions room enjoyed making Welsh Cakes for the nursery to have as a snack.
Baking Welsh cakes with the children is a fantastic, sensory-rich activity that beautifully brings the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to life. As little ones squash, roll, and explore the textures, they develop vital fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination under Physical Development.
The whole experience naturally boosts Communication and Language as you introduce rich sensory words like crumbly, sticky, and warm, while sharing tools and taking turns fosters early Personal, Social, and Emotional Development.
