Today, to celebrate black history month, the children learnt about the first African American woman to go to space! The children first listened to some facts about Mae’s life and how she became interested in space. We then listened to some of her story. After this, the children then made their own rockets out of different shapes! The children used their fine motor skills to spread the glue and place the variety of shapes onto the shapes. We then talked about how we need to be kind to everyone and respectful to everyone. Great job butterflies!
