At the Beach
This week in the toddler room, we kept cool by exploring fruit juicing and making our very own fresh orange juice. The children investigated different fruits, practised squeezing oranges using hand juicers, and then used the nursery's electric juicer to see how it worked. This hands on activity encouraged curiosity, developed fine motor skills, and introduced the concept of healthy eating.
We also created a beach themed role play tray where the children explored a variety of textures, filled and emptied buckets, and practised pouring. These activities supported sensory exploration, hand eye coordination, and early mathematical concepts such as capacity, while encouraging imaginative play and language development as the children shared their experiences and ideas.
