Boat Dramatic Play

The Butterflies have been looking at transport on the water as part of our travel and transport theme.

They have explored boats in all forms such as in the water tray and in the local pond.

Following reading stories about boats the children were able to create their own.

They looked at different types of boats and conducted research.

The children talked about what they wanted their boat to look like.

Vikki helped the children design the boat.

They used open ended materials and loose parts for objects on the boat such as the boats wheel and flag.

The children used the open ended materials to take on roles in their play.

Undertaking different forms of dramatic and pretest play.

They explored both individually and inviting peers to join them in their play.

The children made their own stories in play.

Children were able to give their peers roles and act out experiences from books.
