All About Me (1)

We have learning about what makes us unique in the toddler’s room. We have been exploring our unique features on our body such as hair, eyes, skin, and clothes. Talking about colours and shades. We read a lovely book called. “Will you be my friend” this taught us how to respect one another and how to be kind to on another. We did this with some lovely hugs which made us all happy and proud to be who we are. Next we explored some pictures of ours self, identifying the image and name we then took it to the next step of introducing early writing. We used pencils encouraging the pincer grip to form scribbles in writing form of our names. Early writing provides children numerous opportunities to develop children's emergent literacy capacities including making meaning/expressing ideas in texts, fine motor skills, concepts of print, phonological awareness, phonics, and creating and exploring texts.
