Life Cycle of a Sea Turtle

This week in the baby room we finished off our life cycles monthly topic by exploring the life cycle of a sea turtle. To begin we made our own little turtles by painting some egg boxes. We explored making marks with toothbrushes and paint to turn them green. We then added our turtles to a beach themed tray. In the tray we used our senses to explore different textures and explore the different stages of a sea turtles life cycle. We really enjoyed the cotton ball eggs that we could roll around and hide in the sand. We used our fine motor skills to pat, pinch and grab the jelly bath water and move our sea animals around the ocean and learning movements to make them swim. We then explored some ice that was made into the shape of sea turtle eggs, it was very cold. We extended this by exploring making marks with the ice as it melted. Well done babies on a great week of exploring and learning.
