Over the past 2 weeks the children have taken part in the life cycle of a chick experiment. They had the opportunity to observe the eggs in the incubator and watch first hand as the chicks hatched. Once the chicks had hatched the children helped to transfer them to the cage and brooder and took care of them. The children had the opportunity to feed them and handle them learning to be gentle.
The children read a variety of life cycle of a chick stores and took part in various activities looking at eggs and chick small world play.
Next week we are excited for the life cycle of a duck experiment to start.
