Today we had lots of fun getting stuck into some lovely natural playdough and exploring the different things we could find in nature!
We used different natural materials to roll, press and make prints in the playdough. The children loved using logs as rollers, rolling them backwards and forwards and watching the patterns they left behind. We had lots of little fingers busy squishing, rolling and pressing!
We also had a lovely selection of shells to explore. It was so much fun seeing that each shell made a different print in the playdough. Some left little lines and ridges, while others made bigger, deeper patterns. The children enjoyed comparing them and talking about how the different shells felt too.
We talked about all the different textures we could feel, rough, smooth, bumpy, hard and soft, and the children enjoyed discovering what happened when they pushed each material into the dough.
Lots of squishing, rolling, pressing and exploring today.
Well done Ladybirds!
