Fun and learning at circle time
As part of our new routine in the baby room, we have introduced daily circle times where we all sit together to start the day in a calm and welcoming environment. We begin by singing Good Morning to all the babies and adults, helping the children feel included, settled, and ready for the day ahead. We then use our circle time basket, which contains different props linked to nursery rhymes and songs. The babies enjoy choosing a prop and singing the matching song together, this activity promotes turn taking and encourages the babies to make choices whilst learning actions, exploring new sounds and words, and building confidence through fun and repetition. Circle time also encourages the babies to interact with their peers, develop listening skills, and enjoy shared experiences together. We finish our circle time by singing and signing Goodbye before enjoying some much-loved bubbles, which always brings lots of smiles, excitement, and laughter.
