Berry Painting

The Butterflies looked a range of different berries and used pestle and mortars to squash the berries in the pot producing juice. The children used harder stamps to produce as much juice as possible discussing the colour of the liquid produced. Making comparisons between the different juices produced from blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.

Once the berries had been mushed up the children used the juice to take part in berry painting. They used small paint brushes to dip into the juice and make marks on the paper. Discussing the marks the berry juice made and talking about what they were painting. Grasping the paint brush in palmer, tripod and pincer grasps.
