Magnetic Hunt

The Grasshoppers have been exploring magnetic materials.

They talked about what types of materials might be magnetic and made predictions.

The children recorded their predictions on a list to see that information can be recorded on paper.

They used large magnets to try and test their theories.

Each time they tried a material they compared it to their prediction.

Again they recorded their answers on a recording sheet.

They continued to explore materials which might be magnetic.

They tested materials through trial and error persisting to find materials which were magnetic.

The children took part in a voting system to tell the team if they thought the items would be magnetic.

It showed the children that their views and opinions can be taken into account.

Everyone was very excited when they found magnetic items.

The children decided that metal items were more likely to be magnetic.
