Making Bread and Jam

The Ponies have been making fresh bread and jam for breakfast. They use the children's kitchen and the real kitchen equipment to produce the bread and jam such as using a real bread maker to make the bread and using a real hob hot place to make the jam. They managed the risk taking part in a risk assessment first with the team looking at how to manage the risk and ensure the bread and jam was made safely. The children weighed out the ingredients to make the bread using scales to explore weight and capacity and matching the weight on the scale to the weight in the recipe. Matching number's up and working in number correspondence. The children were excited with making their own bread watching as it rose int he bread maker and ate it for breakfast.
