Literacy flows through the nursery and children are always learning new words and vocabulary as they explore new and exciting activities.
Children are taught to explore words and ask questions and give their views as much as possible.

Children are keen readers, and the teachers take part in exciting story times where children recall parts of the story and re-tell the story, often forming their own stories.

The Oxford Reading Tree Scheme is rolled out and parents are actively involved in this process so that children are familiar with the reading material before they enter reception classes to put them steps ahead.

Children focus on a letter formation scheme where teachers work alongside parents to support children with early writing skills and a range of finger gym activities.
