Pond Dipping

This week each room took part in pond dipping in the local forest. The children were able to descend into the pond with their buckets and nets to look for signs of life. Children enjoyed dipping the nets into the water and locating ricks, algae and pond life. The contents of the nets can be poured into transparent buckets for children to explore and investigate. It is an excellent way for children to explore the natural environment and become immersed in nature. Children are able to take risks and explore both balance and physical skill as they tread into the water and explore different footings.
