Today the Ladybirds engaged in a stimulating, sensory-rich outdoor activity using balls, ramps, and paint. The experience was designed to support early exploratory play and encourage curiosity through hands-on learning. The children investigated different ways of moving the balls, using both their hands and the ramps to roll them across the surface, observing how their actions created a variety of marks, lines, and patterns. This activity supports the development of fine and gross motor skills, as well as early problem-solving, as the children experimented with speed, direction, and cause-and-effect. The use of ramps introduced early concepts of movement and gravity in a playful and accessible way. The children also demonstrated emerging communication and language skills, using expressive words to describe the motion and sounds of the balls as they travelled.
