Off We Go

The children enjoyed taking part in an exciting aeroplane role play activity. Chairs were arranged in rows to look like seats on a plane, and pictures of different destinations were displayed outside the “windows” to create the feeling of travelling to new places. The children arrived dressed in a variety of costumes, which encouraged imagination and creativity as they took on different roles during the experience. One child confidently took on the role of the pilot, sitting at the front of the plane and helping to guide the journey.
Before boarding, the children used their boarding passes, handing them in as they entered the aeroplane. This supported turn-taking, communication, and understanding of real-life experiences. During the flight, one child became the snack trolley attendant, carefully bringing snacks around to the passengers and offering them to their friends. The children showed great enthusiasm throughout the activity, engaging in conversations, using their imaginations, and working cooperatively together. The role play provided valuable opportunities for developing social skills, language, confidence, and understanding of the world through imaginative play
