Forest Den Making

The Butterflies went to the forest to build a den.

They took with them nets, fabrics and a range of different fastenings.

When the children got to the forest they collected items for den such as sticks and twigs.

They talked about what would be strong enough to hold the den.

The children hung fabrics on tree's and used gross physical skills to reach up and climb.

They also explored tying things up and using large pegs as fastenings.

Opening and closing the pegs supports early writing skills.

Once the den had been assembled the children gathered underneath and had snack.

Once snack was finished the children engaged n free play using the den as a house.

They gave each other roles in play and extended play ques.
