Spring Walks

Spring Walks

The babies went on a Spring Walk to Hackney Downs Park to explore the different types of flowers that are in bloom this time of year. They explored the different textures of some of the flowers that we found, such as the daffodils and daisies. The babies really enjoyed the sensory experience whilst at the park, by using their senses to explore and investigate the different smells and textures that each flower has. They were really engaged during their visit to the park and helped to collect some of the daisies to bring back to the nursery.

The  toddlers enjoyed going out on a spring walk. The toddlers enjoyed looking at various of different flowers and enjoyed looking through them with their magnify glass. The toddlers learnt how daffodils look and also what a cherry blossom tree is. The toddlers enjoyed using their sense of touch the feel how the flowers feel. The toddlers enjoyed using their sense of smell to smell the flowers.

On Thursday preschool enjoyed going on their Spring walk to Hackney Downs park. We walked through the street, using our knowledge from Stacey the road safety lady, on how we should cross the road safely first. On the way to the park taking in our surroundings, we spotted that some trees still had no leaves, and some of our trees were beginning to blossom with pretty pink flowers which were falling onto the pavements. When we arrived at the park we used magnifying glasses and magnifying pots to look at the flowers more closely and in depth. We collected some cherry blossom and little white flowers inside our magnifier pots to take back to nursery to explore further. Preschool explored the pretty yellow daffodils inside the park, learning what each part of the flower is called. We used water colours paint pallets to create our own interpretation of the beautiful daffodils we could see in the park. Well done preschool, we had an amazing time!
