Autumn sensory bottle and natural object exploration

Autumn sensory bottle and natural object exploration

This week the babies began learning all about Autumn for our new topic. For our first activity we explored an edible natural object tray with different cereals and natural objects. We enjoyed crunching the cereal with our leaves to make lots of different sounds and enjoyed using our gross and fine motor skills to explore and use the other objects in the tray. For our next activity we made some lovely Autumn sensory bottles. We used a variety of lentils and rice in autumn colours and scooped them into our bottles with different sized spades. We also used our hands and fingers to pinch and grab the different object strengthening or hand and finger movements while also developing our hand eye coordination. We had lots of fun shaking our new sensory bottles and listening to the sounds they make and watching all the colours blend together.
