Conker Tea

The Butterflies have been collecting conkers. On return to nursery they used the conkers for an autumnal tuff tray called autumn tea. The children explored the conkers passing them between cups and tea pots exploring the new objects and natural object. The children used physical skill to tip and pour the conkers between different sized cups, saucers and tea pots and explored a range of mathematical development by exploring weight and capacity as they added conkers to various cups and started to understand when they were full and empty. Such as adding more to a cup if there was still room, or tipping them out from a cup that had reached capacity.
