Mad Science Day

On Wednesday 26th of May the nursery hosted a mad science day through all rooms for the children to explore and investigation a range of cause and effect experiments with their peers. The Ducklings and Goslings loved exploring set jelly with different utensils to exploring the texture using their hands .

The Pelicans, Puffins and Penguins room, demonstrated awe and wonder as they explore a Mentos experiment observing with curiosity and awe the effects of Mentos with soda water. The intent of the activity to explore cause and effect using language and vocabulary to describe what they has observed making prediction of what they through would happen next. The impact was met as the children commented “Bigger” “More” and “fizzing”

The seahorses, Turtles and Dolphins room explores a colour changing experiment and the intention was for the children to explore the colour changing when mixing prime colours. The children engaged and participated in a prediction questionnaire and also linked to their own say of their favourite colours.
