Making Autumn Marks

Making Autumn Marks

This week in baby room to finish our Autumn topic we explored making marks with different natural and heuristic objects that link to Autumn. We did this by exploring individual sand trays and using our gross and fine motor skills to hold and move the different objects in the trays. We really enjoyed looking at the different shapes and marks we could make in the sand while showing curiosity of the different objects in the tray. We explored sprinkling and pouring the sand on top of our objects and moving them around to see what patterns we could make in the trays. To continue this, we then explored making marks on paper with these objects through painting and rubbings. We also added all of the objects in a tray with our big pumpkin and made our very own pumpkin patch where we explored making marks with pumpkins in tea and coffee “soil”.
