Winter Wonderland (1)

Winter Wonderland

On Monday, in preschool, we created a winter tuff tray with different arctic animals and fake snow. The children identified the different animals that lived in the arctic and talked about how these animals were able to stay warm in the snow. The children asked lots of questions, such as and enjoyed learning about some of their favourite animals. In the toddler room we created our own winter wonderland sensory table. We covered shaving foam and snowflakes with cling film and used people and animals to make marks and patterns with the foam. We used our motor skills to walk our people and animals and enjoyed watching the effects. Through this we had discussions on how it would feel being in the snow i.e. cold, crunchy. The toddlers really enjoyed making patterns in the snow and talked and laughed about what they could see.
