This week to celebrate South Asian Heritage month, the toddlers made some spice play-dough! The children were presented with, cinnamon sticks, cumin seeds, curry leaves and garam masala as their spices along with plain play-dough. They used pestle and mortars to crush up the different spices, smelling the aromas as they played. One child said “it smells nice”. Toddlers then mixed the spices into the play-dough, using their fine motor skills. They used rolling pins, chopping boards and other tools to further extend on their play. When asked what they were making, a child replied, “I’m making bread!” The children enjoyed the sensory experience, building on their motor skills! Well done Toddlers!
