Leaf painting

The toddlers took part in an exciting and engaging leaf painting activity, providing them with a wonderful opportunity to explore nature through creative and sensory play. The aim of this activity was to encourage the children to develop their creativity, imagination and curiosity while discovering the different colours and textures of natural materials.

The children were provided with a variety of leaves, colourful paints and paper, allowing them to explore and experiment freely. They enjoyed using them to create prints and patterns, and discovering the different marks they could make on the paper. Some children were particularly interested in feeling and exploring the leaves, noticing their different shapes and textures, while others eagerly selected their favourite colours and expressed themselves through their own unique creations.

Throughout the activity, the toddlers showed great enthusiasm and curiosity, engaging with the materials through smiles, laughter and plenty of exploration. They were encouraged to make their own choices, experiment with different techniques and explore the creative possibilities of using natural resources.

This experience supported the development of several important skills, including fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sensory awareness and creativity. It also encouraged decision-making, independent exploration and self-expression while helping the children develop a greater awareness of the natural world around them.

It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, happy and confident as they explored, experimented and created their own beautiful leaf prints. A lovely activity that combined nature, creativity and sensory discovery while making learning fun and meaningful!
