Spring Harvest

This week in the toddler room we continued our Spring topic by taking part in spring harvest activities. To begin with we explored some soil trays in the baby garden, we used magnifying glasses and utensils to find some strawberries and carrots that were “growing” in the soil. We all did very well learning to take turns and wait patiently while our friends had their turn. When we found our carrots and strawberries we sorted them into baskets and counted how many we had found. Once we had collected all of our carrots and strawberries we took them to the sink and washed them making sure we washed away all of the soil. As we washed we talked about our own experiences when some of us went strawberry picking with our families. Our next task was to cut the carrots and strawberries so we could taste them. We used our fine motor skills to cut with knives. Then our favourite part was tasting them. Well done toddlers.
