Blackberry Painting

The Ladybirds explored painting with blackberries.

First of all they used pestle and mortars to mash the blackberries to liquid.

They used the mortar to fill with blackberries and then used the pestle to stamp it down.

The children commented on the mashed blackberries and talked about the colour.

Then paint brushes were added and the children were able to make marks with the blackberries.

It was spread across the paper and a range of marks made.

Children grasped the paint brush in palmer and tripod grips.

Some children added water to change the consistency noticing how the colour spread further.
