Natural Habitats

Natural Habitats

This week in preschool we have been exploring different habitual areas we learned about them on the touch and tilt (connecting to a hotspot) we had fun guessing which animals belonged to which areas and what other kinds of animals could also live there.

From this activity we chose our favourite animals and wrote fact sheets about them, we used the ipads (again using hotspots) to find the pictures and find out additional facts about the animals to make our fact sheets complete, the children used their early writing skills to go over the dots created for them to create the letters needed.

To end our blog we made different terrains focusing on one animal each and hid them in the garden trying to match their habitual area as much as we could. We used the binoculars and the telescopes to explore the garden and find the different animals being zoologists. We had so much fun exploring the sensory experience of each of the terrains and remembering the facts from their habitats and why they live in the places they do.

Preschool thoroughly engaged in this activity and really enjoyed the learning experiences. Well done preschool for excellent listening skills, writing skills and producing some excellent fact sheets, as always we couldn’t be prouder of you.
