Do you want to build a snow person?

This week in the toddler room we started our new monthly topic winter. To do this we first got creative using a variety of materials and paint to create our own snow person. We used cotton balls dipped in white paint to create the body and head of our snow person. We then used our fine motor skills to spread some glue on our paper and sprinkle our winter textures on top. To extend this further we then created our own melted snow person in some shaving foam textured trays. We used a variety of materials to create the arms of our snow people, like spaghettis and sticks. We had colourful buttons and tissue paper carrots for the nose. We really enjoyed getting messy and exploring what we could do with the different materials in the tray. To finish off our week we read our “Snow” book that helped us to see the different things people can do in the snow. We also sang our snowflake song. These helped us to learn and extend our language skills by introducing new words to our vocabulary. Well done toddlers what a great week!
