Hot Chocolate

Winter themed hot chocolate

For our final winter topic week we made some winter themed hot chocolate. To begin we analyzed the risks of touching hot temperatures and what precautions we should take. Some children said, “Blow it” and “don’t touch”, “mix it”. The children then helped measure out their chocolate powder into their cups. We all poured our own milk into our cups, this prompted mathematical discussions like fill to the top, more and too much. We then counted out three tiny scoops of chocolate powder into our cups. It was really fun watching all the powder disappear. We then used our fine motor skills to stir the chocolate and blend it with the milk. We all then smelled some vanilla essence and cinnamon spice. We then had the option to add these to our drinks. We all really enjoyed the cinnamon smell and taste. Then we got to taste our creations they were delicious. Well done toddlers what great team work.
