Apple and Pumpkin Flapjacks
This week, the children in the Toddler Room continued to build on their interest in baking by making some delicious apple and pumpkin flapjacks!
The children began by checking the ingredients list and looking carefully at the table to make sure they had everything they needed. They then followed the instructions, mashing the banana before adding the other ingredients to a large bowl. The children enjoyed developing their fine motor skills as they poured, scraped and mixed all the ingredients together to create the flapjack mixture.
Once everything was thoroughly combined, the children helped to spread the mixture onto a baking tray, ready for the oven. After the flapjacks had baked and cooled, the children were excited to taste their delicious creations!
This activity provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their listening and attention skills, follow simple instructions, practise their coordination and explore different ingredients through their senses. It also encouraged their independence, confidence and curiosity as they continued to explore the joys of baking together.
