This week, the Grasshoppers have been learning about the importance of giving back to the people who help us in our community.
The children worked together to make a delicious banana bread, each taking part in the process. From scooping and weighing the ingredients to mixing everything together, everyone had an important role to play.
The following day, we set off on a walk along the high street to deliver our special treats. Along the way, we visited different places and met some of the people who help us every day.
Our first stop was the post office, where we gave a banana bread to the post lady to thank her for delivering our mail. We then visited a local nursery, where we shared some cake with the staff to thank them for caring for the children when they were younger.
Next, we stopped by the doctor’s surgery and gave banana bread to the receptionists and doctors to show our appreciation for looking after our health. Finally, we visited the vets, where we handed over the last of our banana bread to thank them for taking care of our pets and animal friends.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and were proud to share their baking while saying “thank you” to the people who help us.
