The Grasshoppers took part in a Christmas cooking activity to make gingerbread biscuits. The children followed a recipe carefully and listened to instructions from the practitioners. The children weighted out ingredients into small bowls as they explored the weight and capacity of different ingredients. The children used physical and mathematical skill to tip and pour the ingredients into a large bowl using different sized bowls, scoops and spoons. The ingredients was mixed together and the children commented don the consistency as it changed from dry to wet. Once the dough was formed the children carefully rolled out the dough and cut out the shapes t prepare their gingerbread biscuits.
