The children in the Grasshoppers room gained inspiration from the ducklings and started to draw them.
They used a variety of different mark making tools to make marks including oil pastels, pencils and felt tips.
The mark making tools were grasped using different grasps such as pincer, tripod and palmer.
Marks were made and the children gave meaning to the marks they made by commenting "this is the ducks feet" and "I drew the ducks long neck".
Hand eye co-ordination and fine motor movement was explored to mark lines and circles on the paper to form the chicks body.
