Flower Pinning

The Grasshoppers went on a trip to the forest to take part in a flower pinning activity. Following on from last weeks risky play activity the team extended on this by taking the risky play into the natural environment. The children once again took part in their risk assessment. Talking about how to manage the risk with practitioners by sitting down when using the tools or standing still and not running. The children carefully used the natural flowers they had collected to hammer them into boards. Using hand eye co-ordination to hold onto the pin and use the hammer at the same time. Children showed high levels of engagement during the activity, persisting when difficulties occurred.
